Product Find: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

For years I have assumed that the best polishes are the ones you find at the nail salon, like OPI and Essie.  But I picked up a bottle of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure at the grocery store, and I have to say it looks smoother, shinier, and most importantly LASTS longer than the salon brands. I think I'm a convert. The pic below is on DAY FIVE, people, and not a chip in sight! And I did my nails myself here, so it wasn't a professional job to begin with:

This particular color is Barracuda (#360). I originally wanted a mint green polish (by the way, can anyone recommend one?), but settled on this light turquoise shade instead. It is pretty and summery, not too green, not too blue. I thought this polish shade would look cute with this outfit for date night at the movies:

Or this outfit for picking up the kids, running errands, etc.:

Now, Sally Hansen alleges that you can skip the basecoat! Skip the topcoat! Well, this isn't really true. I tried it like that and it did not look smooth. So these were my steps, in order: OPI ChipSkip, then one coat CND Stickey Base Coat, two coats of Barracuda, then Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

xoxo,
Kathleen
